I really, really enjoyed reading this. I love Louisa's character, and while she struggled through some hard times in the second book, After You, she was back in full force in this one, bumblebee tights and all. I felt pulled into her world, and rooted for her success. While there was definitely some conflict, more of the book was a celebration, and it was just what I needed right now. If you loved Me Before You despite the ending, and found After You a bit of a challenge, give this one a shot. Louisa is back, and you'll want to be her best friend. You need this closure. :)
Jo Jo is back. I loved this book. Please make another. I am the type of person who wants the book or movie to end the story. What happened to Dean Martin the dog, Mrs. De Wit? Sam and Lou what’s with them?
There is a fourth book here.
I really enjoyed this book, not as much as the first but definitely better than After You which I felt dragged a bit. I read it on a two day road trip and finished it while my partner drove. I love Jojo Moyes writing, especially as Louisa Clark. I went to see her speak at an author event sponsored by Douglas County Libraries and Tattered Cover. She is a great speaker who reminded me a bit of Louisa. She understands her character very well, and you can tell she likes her, which makes the reader like her as well. I would definitely recommend this book if you liked Me Before You.
I loved this book better than the second one (After You) and less than the 1st (Me Before You).
The book tells of Lou's life in NY, after accepting the job that Nathan helped her get. As with the previous 2, I was hooked to the story, as soon as I began reading.
Louisa Clark is a great character and from the first chapter I was happy to be hanging out with her again. I smiled a lot and even laughed out loud!
Welcome back to one of the most original and memorable heroines in modern fiction, Louisa Clarke! This time her wacky and endearing family along with her boyfriend Sam return, albeit often from afar. In STILL ME Louisa finds herself “across the pond” making a new life in the Big Apple. In this third installment of the series, Lou encounters new characters and confronts new complications. Author Jojo Moyes’ seemingly effortless writing drew me in once again - a perfect summer beach read! I especially enjoyed seeing iconic NYC sites through Lou’s eyes. Will this be the last we see of Louisa Clark? Maybe,… but with the success of this trilogy, I doubt it!
Just like 'Me Before You and 'After You' I loved this book. I really have enjoyed the whole series/trilogy, even more so "Still Me' as it is mostly set in New York. Louisa's character is so likeable. Really hope they make a movie for the second and third book....Can't wait!
I thouroughly enjoyed book three of Jojo Moyes’ You Before Me trilogy. The author chose an interesting setting (New York) to help Louisa Clark find her true self as she teeters between the world of the super rich and the friends she makes who are from th same type of world she came from back in England. Louisa faces great difficulties after she is accused of theft by the Gopnicks and fired on the spot, but she manages to reinvent herself before discovering how she truly feels about Josh and Sam. A quick read.
Still Me is enjoyable, hugely due to the fact that the female protagonist does not cave in the end, but actually does what she wants to do! Her personal growth is developed nicely, but I found the ending to be flat.
Unfortunately, this was a predictable end to the trilogy. It's very confusing, as Louisa started out as a character with so much potential and pizzaz, and by the end of the series, her life had become one of those "it's who you know, not what you know" and "right place, right time" tropes that you see in most works of fiction. Honestly, I finished reading this one just to help me meet my reading goal for the year. Very disappointing.
Still Me is the third installment of Jojo Moyes' Me Before You series. It chronicles Louisa's life after Will's tragic suicide in Switzerland and her move to the United States. Louisa's struggles to survive in New York City are captured with Moyes' signature humor and heartwarming nature that pervaded her previous work. If you enjoyed the other books in the series, I see no reason why you would not enjoy this one as well. Highly recommended.
Another fantastic book by Jojo Moyes. I love the character, Louisa Clark. Still Me continues Louisa's story in New York. Great book...couldn't put it down!
Still Me is the third book after the successful Me Before You.
This is definitely a better book than the one before Me After You, which in my view seemed a bit rushed and more of a commercial opportunity for the writer than anything.
However, this 3rd book is more endearing and interesting. Moyes did her research and I found it to be realistic and believable.
The ending (don't worry I'm not sharing the details) was a bit "Sleepless in Seattle". It disappointed a well written story, although it leaves the reader with a positive note.
I thought this book was entertaining, but never with the powerful engaging plot of the first one.
I definitely enjoyed this one more compared to the last one. It does help I think if one has had the pleasure of visiting NYC, especially Manhattan.... JoJo really captures the spirit of that metropolis. She is a really good writer, made me care about every character, thumbs' up!
Fun, easy read.
a must read if you have read the other two in the series! you won't be disappointed. leaves a smile on you face and most satisfying, especially if that is the end of the journey. Imho I feel it would be best to end with book three.... but I know fans will want more!
This was a wonderful read. Second in the series was disappointing...not #3... finished in 2 days...didn't want it to end but that's the joy of books. Thank you JoJo. Have read many of her novels and they always make me smile and cheer for that underdog. Will there be a #4??
I loved it and I can’t wait for the next one!!! After you was not that good but Still me is wonderful!!!
This was a good read. If you were disappointed with After You, don't give up on this next chapter in Louisa's life. It was an enjoyable read, and you will be rooting for Louisa all over again. It cannot compare to Me Before You, but this is well worth the read. If they can make three Bridget Jones' movies (which I love), I think there should be more of Louisa Clark, too!
Enjoyed the third chapter of Louisa Clark's life. I have thoroughly loved this character who is still feeling the influence of Will as she works on the next chapter of her life. Moving to New York to help with the wife of a very rich New York businessman she soon finds herself helping with the lives of a number of New Yorkers. So full of life you will laugh, and cry with her and cheer her on. Always enjoy the characters and stories of Jo Jo Moyes and this is no exception.
It's 12:03 a.m. and I've finished Jojo Moye's third "Me Before You" novel. All I think of is how Jojo Moyes has tugged at my heartstrings once again. Her writing makes me feel like I was a part of Louisa's story; experiencing every one of her challenges and heartbreaks alongside her.
Don't read if you don't want to cry. Like the previous two novels, you will have your exciting, sad, and angry moments. Those moments keep you wanting to read more!
Fingers crossed there will be a fourth novel! I am hoping to see the future of Louisa and Sam's relationship. They've been through so much already, you can only hope good things for them right?
