"It's another Jane Austen book that I couldn't read very well... but this film version is gorgeous and funny and heartbreaking! So well done!" - Amy A.

THIS VERSION IS O.K. BUT THE OLDER SERIES WITH EMMA THOMPSON AND ALAN RICKMAN IS SUPERIOR TO THIS ONE.

I did not enjoy this series. Thought the acting quite poor. I prefer Emma Thompson’s adaptation.

Miniseries like this one is the only way to do justice to rich books like Austen's. A very excellent adaptation.

Excellent adaptation of the classic Austen story. I admit that I adore the 1995 version with Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet, but this one was thoroughly enjoyable as well.

True to Jane Austen's style. Beautiful women cast out of high society by unfortunate events land on their feet, end up living in an idyllic coastal cottage. Disappointed in love but, have no fear, all ends well.

This superb production illustrates why BBC versions of Austen novels are so much more satisfying than other attempts. Here, the cast chemistry is seamless across accomplished, but lesser-known actors. The Ang Lee version (mis)cast famous…

Officially my favorite version of Jane Austen's classic (and first!) novel. I think the actors were chosen perfectly, I loved the pacing of the film, and that they included so much from the story. It may not be as good as the book, but I'm…

I always watched the other version with Emma Thompson so I wasnt excited about this but I ended up loving this one better. The actresses chosen were perfect and I LOVE Dan Stevens!

I love this adaption! Way better than the Emma Thompson version for two reasons: 1. It just is. 2.Dan Stevens plays Edward Ferrars!!! AKA- Matthew Crawley ;)

This adaptation is so well done and so much better than the Emma Thompson movie. All characters are cast perfectly. The scenery is beautiful. The story was fully developed and clear. It's a must see if you enjoy this book.

Having never read the book or watched any other version of this story. I didn't know what to expect. I really really enjoyed this movie. I couldn't however get into the second disc Miss Austen Regrets, probably because I have seen those…

BBC Masterpiece Theater at its Absolute Finest. However, the ending on the first disc is so abrupt, that watching the second disc with a complete new story is a downer.

Originally we liked the 1995 Grant/Rickman/Thompson/Winslet version best, but this one has some major strengths as well.

Andrew Davies gets his sticky fingers on another Jane Austen, and it's not bad. A talented and frisky cast outweighs the script's more anvil-acious moments. One element present in the book, but missing from this and all adaptations so far,…

I really enjoyed this version; I agree with the screenwriter when he said that he felt the men had to "man up," that is one of the things that has always bothered me about Sense and Sensibility. I like what Andrew Davies did, I can now see…
