I was highly disappointed. While some great info was provided. I was disturbed at some of the false statements made such as grand scale building where and when it first began. They nailed it with the Egyptians etc. but completely neglected to mention the Pyramids built in North American and how they were built BEFORE the ones in Egypt. I also took issue with their portrayal of biblical events that are fictional and in this Doc were treated as historical.

Made by the people who did America: Story of Us. The problem here is that it covers six thousand years of world , but in the same 9 hours of screentime, so it is much abbreviated. You can't even really call it highlights, because there's a LOT of highlight-worthy stuff that gets left out or abbreviated. This feature really could have benefitted from an extra disc worth of episodes.

This was not the movie I wanted. I turned it off as soon as I found out.
There is an excellent movie with a too similiar title: The Story of Mankind. A 1957 movie starring Vincent Price and Ronald Colman who argue whether mankind was good or evil.
This movie explains the craziness and the dangers in our society now. This is how it has been throughout history.

This is an amazing overview of world history. The brutality is very hard to watch but it is an unfortunate reality of our past. A combination of live action scenes, brief interviews, and computer graphics highlight key moments from the past. A must watch.
