My three year old requested an immediate reread of this fun and colourful book. There's a fair amount of repetition as Pete the Cat lends the cool blue sunglasses to various other animals who are down in the dumps - but young children love that sort of repetition. The moral of the story (that you can see things differently just by wanting to) is nicely handled - clear but not "beat you over the head".

Great book for little ones with short attention spans. Cat learns he doesn't need the cool blue sunglasses to see things in a better light and cheer himself up. Great illustrations. I suspect the authors are old hippies by the way they talk. Very entertaining.

What do you do on a grumpy day? Look at the world in a different way.
Pete shows the benefits of having an upbeat view on things to cure the blues.

This Pete book is a bit of a departure from the others. I honestly had to let it grow on me. Now that it has, I realize it has a perfect space in any storytime about feelings.
