This graphic novel rendering of Victor Hugo's classic 'Les Misérables' is illuminating, touching and charming. Full disclosure: although I have not yet had the opportunity to read the original work, and in all honesty was somehow more or less unfamiliar with the plot prior to this, the novel is most definitely on my to-read list today. Short and sweet, it would make a fitting vacation read.

An interesting adaptation of an older story. I think the manga style would hold a huge appeal to my current libraries teens. I also see it being well received in schools.

Another good Manga Classic that adheres to the story line without losing too much. In fact, reading this made it easier to understand the story for me (even after watching the latest movie; I've seen it live on Broadway as well but not read the actual book).
