Moving away from everything familiar is hard, no matter where you're going. Aref is going to miss his home of Muscat, Oman when he and his family move to the United States for three years, but his grandfather helps him say goodbye to all the little things that make a place home. Great read for kids coming to terms with a move of their own.

A boy has to leave his home and move to a new country. His grandfather takes him on a trip in his home country that makes it easier to let go. The images in this book stay with you. It's hopeful and sad and funny and uplifting.
