I have really been enjoying the Rainshadow series but this one is written almost in comic book style. Just look at the cover: a gal half dressed in leather looking lethal. Usually there is more of a plot and character build-up but when a futuristic/fantasy novel digs up dinosaurs as the main topic, clearly the author is running out of ideas. "Wonderland" "Jurassic Park" - you get the idea - but way too adult for kids.
