Jem Halliday is in Love with Her Best Friend.
It doesn't matter that Kai is gay, or that he'll never look at her the same way she looks at him. Their friendship is all she needs. But when Kai is outed online by one of their classmates, he does the unthinkable: he commits suicide.

Jem's world is shattered. All she has left of her best friend are twelve letters—one for each month of the year—he wrote her before he died. Kai's letters beg her not to investigate what happened, but Jem can't let it go. She needs to know who did this, and she'll stop at nothing to find the person responsible for Kai's death. One way or another, someone is going down. Someone is going to pay...

I love the approach to suicide in this story...it isn't romanticized, the victim knows what he was doing, and he admits that it was his choice, not anyone else's. This story is a tough read, with a taste for revenge, but the growth of Jem's character is beautiful and tragic. This one is a must-read.

This book is sooo confusing! After I finished reading the book I didn't know whether I liked it or not. I didn't like the characters at all! Especially the main character Jem, she is so selfish and she did the whole revenge thing for herself. Not for Kai as she assumed, but because she felt bad for being alone. That's it! Besides, the book is not realistic at all! The only thing I like is the idea of the book, too bad the writer couldn't use it to make a good plot. I give this book zero stars and I don't recommend it to anyone.

This book was something else. Deep down inside i was hoping Jem got some sort of a happening ending. Reading Kai's last letter at the very end got me teared up. He knew who had betrayed him and let it go asking Jem to move on too. So heartbreaking.

This book was great. I wish Kai hadn't died! The reader will feel Jem's anguish, sadness & helplessness. I wanted it to end how it did. Or I wanted her to end up with Lucas & live happily ever after. I also guessed the person who filmed it.

The end of this book frustrated me. I read Torn prior to reading this novel. Once again, I thought the author portrayed the teenagers thoughts, actions, and emotions realistically. This is not a bad thing, I just find it hard to relate because I’m way beyond my teen years. The behaviors of the main character made me want to reach into the book and shake her. The pain and anger caused by the loss of her bestfriend completely consumed her. She was so bent on revenge that she missed out on real opportunities to be happy. Sometimes hindsight occurs so late, that mistakes made now cannot be rectified later.
