This dramatic crime film stars Gerard Butler, Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart, and Angela Bassett in this very British film. The movie is about government officials trying to protect each other and the general public, following a terrorist attack in London after the Prime Minister died. This movie was definitely action-packed and played off of the natural fear of terrorism, however, the storyline wasn’t very complex and the characters didn’t really do anything to add to the story. It is enjoyable enough as a graphic crime film, but not entertaining enough as a drama film. I would rate this movie 2.5/5 stars

Some xenophobic lines, but Gerard Butler shooting bad guys is cool if that is what you're looking for.

This is how an action movie should be done. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Entertaining action film. Much of the story line could serve as a warning for the current political climate.

Plenty of shoot 'em up action and suspense. The problem is, that's pretty much all there is. The plot is trite, sophomoric, & requires a major suspension of disbelief. The two look-alike leading actors, cartoonish. Better acting is found in a few of the supporting roles, and the special effects are pretty good. If you're looking for revenge-seeking characters having a shoot 'em up on the streets of London, a good choice. If you're looking for a an action film with interesting character & plot development, won't be found here.

Good action. Awesome sequences. Don't care about logic!

omg! gerard butler is 3x more skillful, powerful & lethal than any 007 stars! a tiger compared to pussy cats!
whoever wants to see a modern global terror action movie should put aside logic or plot. just enjoy the violence, revenge & feel good emotion.
the long car-chase sequence (to get to the chopper from the church) is certainly 1 of the top among movies, in terms of smart moves & daring maneuvers.
i especially like the street shootout sequence (to gain entrance to the terrorist operation hideout). doesn't that look like those point&shoot military video games?
btw, i have not seen "olympus has fallen", so cannot compare.

Mike Banning: You're fucked.

Benjamin Asher: Mike...

Mike Banning: Don't jinx me.

[closes the doors]

Benjamin Asher: That was inspiring...

Loads of quotes in IMdB already, e.g.:

Mike Banning: [about the President's bad driving] The car is bullet proof, not politician proof.

Aamir Barkawi: Vengeance must always be profound and absolute.
