The incredible untold story of Edward Snowden, the polarizing figure who exposed shocking illegal surveillance activities by the NSA and became one of the most wanted men in the world. He is considered a hero by some, and a traitor by others.

Snowden’s book (“Permanent Record”) was more interesting and entertaining. The movie made it seem like so many people knew about the spying that was going on, when actually Snowden was one of the very few who knew about it. Oh, and the movie just had to throw in that a black guy helped contribute to Snowden’s whistleblowing, another fiction that just attempts to pander to the black community.

I thought the movie was good but as some others have said the best part for me was seeing the Q and A afterwards which includes answers by Edward Snowden himself.

Neither good nor bad, slow, I enjoyed it but I don't give above average for movies that aren't. Very similar to The Post.

Typical Oliver Stone: overwrought, banal, good actors stuck with histrionic script. Poor Rhys Ifans plays Snowden's boss, is made to look like an idiot.

This drama/thriller film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Shailene Woodley, Zachary Quinto, Melissa Leo, and many more. The movie is about a former National Security Agent who decides to leave the agency so he can reveal the truth about the information that is being hidden from the general public. After leaking classified documents, he became one of the most controversial people in America. This movie was definitely biased and in favor of Snowden’s actions, which I feel took away from the very complex situation and made it harder for the audience to connect to the film. I would rate this true-life story 3.5/5 stars.

This was an interesting venture by Oliver Stone. The ideas covered are pretty interesting and it never really slows down for a moment. At times a romance, sometimes espionage and drama too, it has a pretty good mix. Not sure this movie made me think of him as a hero, but it was pretty interesting. Nothing special though.

When Oliver Stone loves you, you will be portrayed as a saint complete with a glowing music store that will ensure you have your place in the immortality of public imagination. Even though the real Snowden makes an appearance in this film I would sooner recommend the documentary Citizen Four if you really want to know the story unfettered by Hollywood hyperbole.

Very good representation of the actual events! It is probably going to be scary to some people who haven't considered that any connected device can be "hot mic'ed" by the federal hackers. That means your laptop, your desktop, and even your smart TV if it has a camera, can be used covertly to spy upon you in situations that you think are very private. Once again the buzzword is connected. If your privacy is truly important, simply resign yourself to the fact that when you are accessing the internet it is not private. Enjoy the movie, don't get too scared.
