Director Alex Rotaru profiles the devoted musicians entered in the 2007 International Piano Competition for Outstanding Amateurs in Fort Worth, Texas, where any nonprofessional pianist over the age of 35 can fulfill their dreams by shining onstage. Some are classically trained, others are self-taught, but all have "real jobs" -- ranging from dentist to physicist to pro tennis player -- and are avid artists with a lifelong passion for music.

Watched with my husband and then my 10 year old daughter. Nice to see mature adults enjoying what is often thought of as a rigorous and painful childhood ritual of learning and developing their piano skills. Their passion was lovely to see. My daughter really loved it as well!

wonderful documentary about Van Cliburn piano competition for amateur players. excellent playing and although competitive, not the hard edge you see and feel in a professional competition. interesting stories of the motivations and dedication of the entrants.
