I found this book way too long and unexciting. It could have been condensed and wrapped up a lot faster with more action. I only finished it because I did not have another book to read. Not his best work.

This was not one of my favorite Gabriel Allon books, but I enjoyed it none the less.

I think this is the only book I have read of his that I have not enjoyed. I found it slow and plodding and the end was anti climatic. Even this good author has a bad outing once in a while I guess.

This book had all the ingredients of a thriller but somehow the mix didn't work; at least it didn't do it for me. Gabriel Allon, the chief of Israel's secret intelligent services is a larger than life leading man; however, the other characters were not upto par. Allon hunts for his most important asset inside Russian intelligence and his quest in time leads him and us, his readers backward in time. I thought it was a waste of almost 500 pages.

Ohhhhh, this is good. Speculating a living relative of turncoat British spy, Kim Philby, author Silva imagines this relative as a high placed mole in the Westetn intelligence structure. It's a thought-provoking scenario and gives Gabriel Allon, his recurring character, something to sink his teeth into.

The writing is so good - spare, elegant, and suspenseful. My hope is that new espionage writer Jason Matthews, with his extensive insider knowledge of spycraft, will rise to this level of writing excellence as his career continues. Fingers crossed.

As always, I can't wait for the next Silva offering.

I have thoroughly enjoyed every one of the Gabriel Allon series and this one is also fantastic. Couldn't put it down, fascinating. And, just think, Silva does it all without resorting to sex or foul language. That's the sign of a gifted writer.

The greatest traitor of the 20th century intelligence world provides the backdrop for this latest in the Gabriel Allon series, as the Israeli spymaster and his associates confront the death of a defector and try to unravel the truth about who bears responsibility for it. Silva continues to invest his narrative with tension and strong characterization, and it works well throughout this latest book, all while ringing true with the current world situation.

Another superb offering from Silva , who proves once again that he is one of the very best writers of our time. If there are any negatives on this one, it would be that Silva again has a plenitude of minor characters, who can become difficult to keep track of. Not quite a cast of thousands, but getting there.

It is amazing that Daniel Silva's novels keep getting better and better. One of my top 5 fiction authors. THE OTHER WOMAN is a very creative look into current times while spinning the story around perhaps the biggest spy scandal of the 20 century. It is an extraordinary read, well plotted, great characters (as always), and interesting historical background. And, without even seeming to do so, he issues a strong warning about current USA-Russia relations and the players involved. Can't wait for the next novel in this series.

After five years of reading this series (I was way late to the party.), I am fully realizing what a genius Silva is and how groundbreaking his Allon books are. Today I had the privilege of seeing him in person discussing his series and this book specifically. This series is consistently entertaining, informative and clean. Highly recommended!
