Very dumb movie that had jokes miss a lot. If you like Step Brother and Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, this movie will not live up to your expectations.

The jokes are jokes that kids might like but the setting is unappealing and unfamiliar to children. This might be a movie you just have to skip.

It was like a dog trying to tell a knock-knock joke about a Anna Karenina playing baseball to a planter filled with dead tulips.

Utter. Garbage.
Not garbage in the ha ha way like The Room or Howling II.

I have enjoyed most of Will Ferrell's films to date. I was hoping this would be another The Other Guys, not another Semi-Pro. I saw this in the theater on xmas day with my boy friend and was so embarrassed and shocked. The cameos? The story? The WEIRD ADR (voice recording post filming)? Random edits. Random pacing. And on top, jokes that are lame ducks. Many many people left before the movie was over. I stayed because I wanted to see what I paid for. Only two movies in recent memory are worse: Jack and Jill, and Mortdecai. It's on that level.

Quite possibly the worst film ever made.

Silly, not satire, but a comedy take on story. You might really enjoy. Like actors.

A dry attempt at Monty Python style of humor but misses the mark. A shame ... normally I'm a Sherlock fan. Shrek eats onions with more comedy. The script needed MUCH more work.

I do not know if this was just not our kind of humor or what. We thought it was so dumb we took it out and didn't even finish watching it. The first half hour of it was just so awful.

Watson: [referring to Holmes being sick at morgue] Are you sure you wouldn't rather wait here because last time

[gestures vomiting and diarrhea]

Holmes: I told you, that was merely a bout of stomach influenza

Watson: Yes, but the time before that?

Holmes: Bad clams.

Watson: And before that?

Holmes: I shook hands with a prostitute.

Millie. I have a confession to make. I'm not actually in love with you. In order to conclude my investigation, it was imperative that I understood what love felt like. I'm sorry to have led you on.
- I have a confession as well. I was also not in love. I was conducting an experiment on how easy it is to manipulate the male ego.

What a perfect day for a picnic at London's greatest spectacle, the Anglo-American Exhibition. A celebration of that special relationship between our nation and yours.
-Yes, such a special relationship between these two nations, although I could never live in a country with an unelected ruler like the Queen.
Why ever not?
-In America, we have democracy. Our president is a person our people have all chosen.
Mmm.
-An assurance that only the finest and most qualified man will lead, not a wealthy tyrant who cares for nothing but himself.
But you have the electoral college, which surely will prevent some trumped-up charlatan from gaining power.
-Not always, unfortunately.
It would be great to have a strong businessman. But a showman as well. I love a good show.
