I listened to the audiobook. Sometimes a bit hard to follow several stories at once. However, it’s beautifully told, powerful, scary all at once. Worth the effort to work at gettin “into” the book.

Agonizingly poignant. Something that must be read about, but nothing that should ever be necessary again. Waite treats the subject with delicacy.

A very powerful, pre-WWII story about courage, passion, and above all an unshakeable faith. Incredible what these little (and not so little) children went through. This book will make you want to research the real-life people upon which this novel is based.
