Excellent documentary of two British sisters who came to Canada in the early 1800's. They overcame the hardships of a pioneer woman. They each gave birth to several children and cared for them often by themselves as their husbands were either fighting a war or finding paying work elsewhere. Each woman has a different point of view and each became an author.

A documentary well worth watching. Shows the hardship these women had to overcome when they moved to Canada early in the 19th century, and how they managed to become Canadian writers - each with their own distinctive views of living in the bush.

Well done portrait of Catherine Parr Traill and Suzanna Moodie. Makes me want to read their accounts of pioneer Ontario
