Written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, this movie is based on the memoir by Molly Brown, "Molly's Game". If you're a fan of Aaron's writing (he wrote "A Few Good Men", "The West Wing", and "American President", to name a few of his works) and you're interested in underground poker games (and the ramifications that come from running one), this movie is one you should check out. It was nominated for many awards for the screenplay and for Jessica Chastain's performance (she won the Golden Globe for Best Actress 2018).

The rough diamonds in this movie were its themes of integrity, honor, and justice. The fact that this is a true story turned them into true gems. The well-told story is a fitting setting.

The two things that kept me from awarding it the top star are that it seemed more cerebral than heart-felt, and, if it was going to be as cool as a documentary, then Molly's enemies should have been allowed to explain more of their motivations. We got some of it with her dad's appearance at the end. We heard a little in Molly's wrap-up, but it was her explanation, not theirs.

Well-acted and very enjoyable, but the script or the editing could have been better.
