GREAT set of 6 films - so far I have watched 'Three Smart Girls' with Dianna at only 14 years old - quite a talent - and 'Can't Help Singing' a terrific western comedy musical, one of the best I have ever seen.

This "Sweetheart" DVD collection contains 6 light-weight, girl-meets-boy, Rom-Com, Musicals that cover Deanna Durbin's film career from its debut in 1936 (at the age of 15) to its finish in 1947 (at age 26)._____ Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Durbin grew up into an attractive young woman who, not only proved to be a competent actress, but was an accomplished singer with an extraordinary singing voice, as well._____ Personally, I think that Universal Studios totally wasted Durbin's obvious talents by starring her in all of this mindless, predictable fluff, but, the audiences at the time loved her and she was a literal box-office sensation._____ At the absolute height of her career Durbin, then 26, walked away from Hollywood (never to return) over her futile disputes with her studio, demanding to be cast in more sophisticated roles beyond the standard "Chick Flick" routine._____ *Note* - It is out of my respect for singer/actress Deanna Durbin that I rate this DVD collection somewhat higher than I think it really deserves.
