I seem to be the only one here who doesnt like this movie at all. Very campy and no matter how many times Ive seen it, I have yet to become a member of the Rocky Horror Picture Show fan club. Interesting to see a young Susan Sarandon and Tim Curry does an admirable job. But this isnt going on my list of favorites any time soon.

Hey, folks! - If you just happen to be in a sing-along, dance-along, haywire mood, then - Yes. Welcome to this 1970's transsexual, Transylvanian romp where archaic gay-camp (mixed generously with pure nonsense) is bound to tickle you pink.

So, come on down to the lab to see what's on the slab with Brad & Janet (and all the rest of this loony gang), where non-stop scenery-chewing and neurotic silliness prevails (like never before) in this decidedly dated, time warp production.

For all of the endless raves of positive reviews that this particular Sci-Fi/Musical/Comedy has garnered for itself over the past 40 years, I was certainly quite disappointed, indeed, to see just how unbelievably tame this one-note-joke-of-a-movie actually was, in the long run.

It was so tame, in fact, that absolutely no profanity, whatsoever, was ever uttered, at all, throughout its entire 100-minute running time.... Can you beat that?

IMO - This 1970's, glam-rock mess-terpiece (which I thought was nothing but a big heap of nonsensical twaddle) is only worth a rating of just 2 measly stars at best.

I mean, here was an often-praised cult movie that really wasn't even half as good as what I've frequently heard people rave on and on about it.

I certainly found most of the characters in the story to be downright irritating. And, worse yet, most of the 18 songs were really quite forgettable, too.

If I were to describe this shrill, little production to you in just one word, I'd have to say that "embarrassment" pretty much sums up this nutty Sci-Fi/Musical in a nutshell.

In my opinion - This is the sort of movie that could only appeal to a very small and select audience (which I'm obviously not a part of).

I saw it once at a midnight screening. The movie was okay. The audience was one of the stupidest things I have ever seen.

I've seen this movie numerous times. You either get it or you don't. You either see it once and hate it...or you see it over and over again..AND LOVE IT! I actually own the DVD and when I watch it I feel like I'm on a very strange journey. And I LOVE IT!

3 of the 4 decent songs are in the first 20 minutes, the other is Meatloaf's about half way thru. While I did not like it that much overall, the best part about having watched it is that I never have to watch it again

- I loved the live showings at the Strand Theater in SF, late 70's...waiting in line to get in was worth the price of admission by itself, SF in it's wildest glory! Saw it other places, suburbs and Midwest, hoping for less noise and distraction, but the audiences were just as noisy, and very amateurish...even more distracting!
- It's fantastic on a good home theater system, to really appreciate the dancing and singing of the whole cast, truly amazing!!!

Curious
Is there anyone who never saw the Live Audience in the theater showings, and "Not" enjoy the movie?
Or not see the midnite fan(tastic) fiasco of Fun, but did enjoy the dvd on its own??
😆😉👏😎

Please, do yourself a favor & do not watch this for the first time alone in your living room wearing normal clothes, without any unbuttered toast. Sad, sad, sad!
But if you are recapturing your squandered youth, even alone in your living room wearing normal clothes, I'm sure you will be doing The Time Warp Again...It's just a jump to the left...

If you didn't squander your youth, get thee to a late nite double feature picture show!

Columbia: You're very fortunate to be invited up to Frank's laboratory. Some people would give their right arm for the priviledge.
Brad: People like you, maybe?

Sexual Content: The whole concept of the movie is sexual. I don't recommend this for tweens, but early teens if they are mature and know about homosexuality.
