I love Jodie Foster's work. And who doesn't like Liam Neeson? This film, however, was a valiant effort, but came up short. The story's foundation was there, but there were issues. Nell's gibberish 'language' was irritating no matter how much I tried to accept it. I think (co-producer) Foster tried too hard to be in character, to the point of overacting. The twirling around scenes, etc. - just didn't work. Neeson laid the 'concern' for her welfare on a little thick, also, to the point of obsession. Dr. Creepy Voyeur. (I still can't get that damned "chickabee" out of my head...)
