If you're already a fan of the first book in this series, you'll probably enjoy this outing. Dr. Charlotte Stone is a psychiatrist with a special interest in serial killers. She can also...excuse this ...see dead people. Ghosts in limbo communicate with her until they are drawn into the light. When a killer named the Gingerbread Man enters her life, she joins the FBI as they try to identify him & stop the horrific methods he uses to get rid of his victims.
At her back is Michael, the ghost of a man who was convicted of murdering 7 women. He also happens to be tall, dark & handsome although a bit transparent at times.
There is a manhunt, dangerous situations & moments of romance leading to a resolution that leaves the door open for a sequel. You'll figure out who the bad guy is before you get there.
This book wants to be a thriller & a romance but the mystery side of the plot is weak with conclusions being reached with little evidence & moments that lack credibility. It's background for what is really a
paranormal romance so if that's your cup of tea, enjoy.
