I heard about this book via the NPR book club, early last year. They posed the question, on what page did you first cry? For me it was 70-something. This book speaks to who we are when we find ourselves in the most dire circumstances. Some of the characters are brave, others weak. It was a quick read, very interesting, and made me grateful for my cozy and safe workplace!
