From the author of the great prison library narrative "Running the Books," something completely different. Avi Steinberg's second is part writerly memoir, part travelogue, part irreverent and side-slapping humorous reflection. His basic tenet, to treat the "Book of Mormon" as the first great American novel is, um... a novel approach. The explicit comparisons between faith in Christ or Abraham to mental illness, and Mormonism to "Star Wars" may not sit well with all audiences.
