Ben Elton, Kenneth Branagh and Judi Dench gave me a profoundly touching experience just when I needed something extraordinary. It made my jawbone ache with emotion, always an indicator for me of the poignant, the haunting, and essential experience I had till this evening not known was waiting to help me in my own journey.
In distant shots I kept mistaking Ken for David Mitchell from “Upstart Crow” and was fascinated to realise that Ben Elton wrote it. I have even greater esteem for his Shakespearean writings, and long may he continue exploring this world. It was so comfortable and reminiscent of the UC sets, that I really missed the clay pipes!
All that was missing was having Bill Bryson involved in some way in the Extra Features section, but nevertheless it was perfection.
