This is one of those books where you have to stick with it to get the reward. It starts with each chapter telling a part of the story from a different character's point of view. It's a complex & densely populated plot, so much so, that it takes a long time to see a bigger picture emerge. Initially, it's like a bunch of vaguely related short stories. But if you stick with it, slowly the relationships between all these characters & storylines begins to appear & it picks up speed to become a true thriller. For me, it was the character of Joe that kept me turning pages as he's a sympathetic anti-hero & I wanted to know what happened to him. So hang in there, the last third of this book makes it worthwhile.
