As an old man lies dying, his adult son becomes lost in childhood memories. It was a childhood of minor mortifications and small betrayals at the hands of his well-meaning yet maddeningly impulsive father. As his dad’s life ebbs, he finally achieves some peace of mind in this tender tale of love and forgiveness that explores the sometimes-precarious bonds between fathers and sons. A healthy dose of humour keeps things on track and avoids maudlin sentimentality.
