This is a 1953 war film that tells the story of a group of American airmen held in a German World War II prisoner of war camp. They come to suspect that one of their number is an informant. Produced and directed by Billy Wilder, it was adapted from the Broadway play, which was based on the playwright's experiences as prisoner in Stalag 17B in Austria. Along with "The Great Escape" and "The Bridge on the River Kwai," this is considered as the greatest World War II Prisoner of War film. I think, however, this film is worse than the other two simply because it includes gratuitous comical scenes.
